Junior nearly died

Last week I was invited to KL for Nuffnang's pyjamas party by one of my good friend cum FAMOUS blogger cum good sister (the hairy one) but it was a pity I had to choose my wedding pictures on sunday therefore I was unable to make the trip to KL.

Damn, I was really regretting not being able to be there personally cos every blogger is talking about it. Xiaxue, Dawn Yang, Kenny Sia, Kerin and the other bloggers were there IN THEIR PYJAMAS!!!!!! So cool rite!!!! I think its high time I put Nuffnang's ads on my bloggy so that I might be able to get invites like this again in future and also earn a bit a spare cash (that would be if I am bothered enough to go and find out HOW TO DO IT).

The weekend that jus passed jolted me out of my dream. Why?

Cos Junior nearly died.

Why?

It all happened on sat when I was cooking and cleaning in preparation for my 2 special guests over for dinner. I picked up a small insect from the floor that looked like a bee. And it felt like a bee too as it was soft and furry and it had wings (I cannot remember if it has stripes though).

I tot nothing of it.

Dinner passed and my 2 guests went back at around 9pm and I went to shower. Junior came into the shower with me and SHOWERED with me. A rare sight. Normally he would charge out of the shower whenever he had a chance while I was bathing him. I knew something was wrong with him but I didnt know wat.

I tot his Godma scared him jus now by chasing him all over the house.

But it wasn't. It took another 1 hour before we finally knew wat was the problem with Junior. Kenji looked into his face at 10.30pm and nearly screamed into my ear - Junior's left eyelid was very very very very swollen like a gold fish. Suddenly my mind went blank. I was soooooooo scared. Wat if his airhole closed up, Wat if he fell and hurt his brain, wat if he was goiing to die?

We quickly bundled him into the car and the F1 racer raced us to Mt Pleasant Hospital. I seriously prefer Mt Pleasant over James Tan. And Mt Pleasant shall be our regular vet from now on cos of the professionality the people showed there and I am pleased with their services even though my 1st foot into the clinic already cost me $128, excluding the medicines, excluding GST. But I dun mind cos At least they dun come to the reception looking like they have jus woken up.

The doc was very friendly and nice. She asked wat happened and before she could ask if I knew the culprit who did this, I told her about the insect that I found. And it was indeed a bee. Junior has this habit of going after these flying creatures and playing with them, and killing them.

She dripped a yellow liquid into Junior's eye to ensure that there were no cuts in it and his whole eye became GREEN. He looked like an evil gremlin. Pictures are not uploaded yet, I will upload them when I get home cos my office lappy is locked and I cannot upload any stuff on it to prevent corruption of the files in it.

And she gave him 2 injections.

1st one went into his skin. He didnt even flinch. The 2nd one, according to the doc, was very challenging as it has to go into the muscle. I was asked to hold his shoulders and she jabbed him hard on his rite chicken leg.

He cried sooooo much. My heart was so painful cos my baby boy was crying so much..... And he was whining and shivering after the jab.

Junior was given 5 tabs of cold tablets (the same ones that I take when my rashes comes looking for me). Total damage came up to $156. Well, daddy paid for it. Thanks daddy!!!!

Junior was supposed to be conquered by the injections and get very sleepy. Instead he was stoning the whole journey home. He fell asleep briefly and he was up and about his usual self, jumping all around and sittin on my face all that in 1.5hours time. The swelling also disappeared.

Lucky for me, he didnt die. I dunno wat I'll do if junior leaves me.

But he always scares the shit out of me. And I think this time he was really scared too cos his shit the next morn, was green in colour and no, he didnt eat the green liquid that was in his eye. I guess he was really scared and worried cos he didnt feel rite that was why he stuck soooooo close to me - he was trying to tell me somethin was wrong with him and wanted me to manja him.

Jus that I am a careless mummy. I didnt even know his eyelid was swollen and I didnt even bother to go talk to him or anything like tat to make him feel better, instead I still brought him for injection on his chicken leg. But it was for your own good darling.....

At least now he's better and can show attitude and bark and show his fed-up face when I woke him up on sunday to check on him. Hahahaha..... My son..... is really...... amazing..... Sometimes I feel that he is half human cos he understands wat I am saying. hahahahaha. But its a pity he will never be able to call me mummy. Never mind, I will train him from now on..... Maaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....... hahahaha.

Defu Lane Crabs + Piggy leg

Then on sunday, we went to choose our wedding photos. Took us almost 2 hours. But we were quite street-smart so we knew how to choose and wat to expect. Didnt manage to get "conned" to upgrade the package, except that there are a few pictures of junior that she took really well that the proud parents of Dino Junior cannot resist but to buy them separately.

Brought junior and coco to pet mart and then we went for early dinner as we were all soooooo hungry. Lena brought us to defu lane to eat crabs..... yummy. And you must try the things there with the stock (gravy). The vegetables cooked in stock is soooooo nice, the fried mee sua is nice too, the crabs were wonderful, i still prefer the crab in stock. The butter one I not used to it yet. Maybe must go eat a few more times then will get used to it..... hahahahahaahah.

The crab claw is gigantic lor...... slightly smaller than my hand, and bigger than a nokia phone.

After dinner, I decided to visit the chinese physician at Lor Ah Soo to "tui" my leg. Then doctor said very serious, so end up have to do acupuncture. Its my 1st time doing acupuncture lor. The 1st needle that went in (the one nearest to my ankle) gave me electric currents from the place I was poked all the way to my toes.

Then the 2nd needle at the back of my leg, I can feel the needle go rite into my flesh cos he really pushed the needle into my muscle or tendon or vein lor.

So I ended up like tat for 20mins.

After that cos it still hurt, he poked me another 2 times at different places. The 3rd and 4th needles were quick, but the 4th one nearly killed me cos he poke it rite into the tendon that was inflammed. I screamed lor.....

But after this treatment, my foot was really better. Yesterday I could walk normally lor. But today dunno is it because I drove, my foot started to hurt again...... sigh, must go say hi to the doctor and the needles again I presume.....

A home-cooked meal for the dinosaurs family

Another post about food again. Haha. My blog seems to be turning into a "makan sutra" blog liao. Hahahhaha. No la, where can compare to seeto? He's so good lor, even organise food tours for tourists who wan to enjoy our local delights and he brings them to the places where really authentic food is served..... even at hawker centres....

1stly we shall talk on the chef Ah ber. Chef Ah Ber cooked a fully home-cooked meal for the dinosaurs family last week wed. No usage of "food for dummies" packages or recipes or instant stuff.

Just a simple, nice meal for the dinosaurs.

On the menu we have white steamed rice, stir fried vegetables with garlic, sausage, meat & crabmeat omelette & braised chicken wings.






I finally cooked a proper meal!!!! YEAH!!!!!

2 days ago, I became a chef in my own home....

Menu - Pineapple Rice, Spaghetti with cream sauce, Kailan & chye Sim in Oyster Sauce, Nuggets, Hotdog Buns, Ice Cream & Fruits.

And so far, only 1 casualty from sunday's cooking..... hahahahahahahahaa...... see his tummy!!!!


I seriously hope no one turned out like Jared...... He fainted cos the food was TOOOOOOO NICEEEEEEEEEE....

Some long-due photos to share!!!

Let's start with my mum's and 2 aunties' birthday. My xiao ku's birthday is on 1st march, my mum's birthday on 2nd march, my da ku birthday on 5th march and my er ku birthday on 29th march..... so we celebrate the 1st 3 birthdays together cos very close together.....

The week before, we went to Hua Ting restaurant together with my cousins and my aunties and uncles. It was actually a surprise thingy for da ku but she dun look very surprised lor.....

And Wat I wan to mention here, is the Longevity Peach "shou tao". The thing is soooooooo small, maybe only 4-5cm long and 2-3cm wide only. And it costs $1.30 each ok...... The lunch was quite ex around 400 for 1 table...... we ate a mixture of western fusion and chinese fusion. And no time to take much photos cos i was busy snatching food.... i didnt even manage to eat some of the dishes you know!!!!

But I had to take a pic of the shou tao cos it was very cute. And as usual, not enough to go around, jus 1 piece for everyone. So I told the rest to pluck from the trees lor..... (if you see the pic you know wat I meant)....

Junior is really my clever baby boy. He knows I get irritated when Daddy takes too long on his PSP and dun pay attention to him so my darling boy likes to do this to distract daddy away from his PSP. Could it be that Junior wanted to play the PSP too????

Junior baby will climb all the way up to his daddy's chest (usually daddy always hugs a pillow) and sit there. He will even put his bum on daddy's face..... Most of the time he will attack daddy's nose in "eye contact"...... Dunno wat is eye contact? Next time you see Junior, you look at him and tell him "EYE CONTACT". He will give you the best facial in Singapore, some say JB and Batam.....

But sometimes, the facial is too good that Junior might get dognapped..... take for example, his Godma..... got 2 dogs already still need to dognap Junior to give her facial and everytime junior takes photo with Godma, he will give that "stupid" face..... my son really knows how to pose hor?

And does anyone knows why coco is always so white and nice and clean? I found the answer....

Her mummy does this to her...... eh, excuse me wat brand is your washing machine? I wan to get it too so that my clothes will be clean and white and nice too....

Then its MY TURN to zi-lian. I was bored at lunchtime in the office, so I started to zi-lian.....

Chef Ah Ber

I saw Ms Kerin mei's MSN nick about High expectations = High disappointments. I guess I fell into this category for the past 2 weeks. I hope I dun fall into the same category as Felicia where she is so uptight about everything.


And I realise that when I am feeling down, I turn to people who appreciate me. I guess that is normal rite. Hahaha.... I feel that I am being taken for granted and not appreciated and can be easily forgotten and when he likes it, then he will be nice, when he doesn't like it, he will show you his black face and show you attitude.


But I still love him and I have been with him for the past 804days which is equivalent to 2.3yrs. And he always has his ways to make me happy and make me forget about all that he has done to me to make me upset. So ultimately, I still love my son and I know he still loves me too.


Everyone needs a bit of spice in their lives now and then. I simply hope my life's not going to be stagnant again and I becoming complacent again. Although I am on a diet but chocolate became part of my staple diet cos it makes me happier. And I am in love with toblerone now.....


Therefore I decided to let the cooking bug bite me so that I am able to do something to prove that I am not a dummy. Menu for sunday - Pineapple Rice, Spaghetti (Main Course), Kailan with oyster sauce, Nuggets (side dishes), 3 flavoured Ice Cream (Dessert) & some soup which I have not tot about yet.


Guinea pigs invited will be my best friend Rina, my 3 godsons, Myshell (Michelle), Lena (authentic guinea pig + food critic), Jie Fu (Ahmad the driver), Coco & Brandy (my daughter-in-laws), not forgetting my ah gong son Junior and his daddy who requested for my spaghetti.


I hope you all dun need to wait till 6pm for lunch.... hahahahaha....

Rants cos I am bored.... hahahahaha

My herbal tea is too hot to drink in my office so I was doing teh tarik with it. Heehee.

Today my mood is not bad. I went down to HQ for half a day and managed to get some work done there. Then around 3pm I went back to chai chee office. My boss is amazed at the speed I drove cos when I called him on some issue he was quite amazed that I am back to office already. Of cos la, I dun "eat snake" one ok.... heeheeh.

When I came back to chai chee office, I settled some other issues and now I take a break 1st. I suddenly missed my smelly boy. Suddenly wish to cuddle him and kiss him and smell his smelly doggy smell. Maybe its a cold day and when its a cold day, people get lonely..... especially now that I am alone in this big big room all by myself.

I heard some good news that Jie fu got his new car yesterday. And its a big and good car that can go to KL..... yeah..... so me and lena are planning for a getaway soon. I seriously need a break. My aunts and mum came back from bangkok and I really, really, really missed going to bangkok.

How bout a beach holiday? I missed the nice sea waters and the salty sea breeze...... I missed wearing a bikini (not that I can wear one now cos it would be sooooooo ugly).... I am seriously thinking of tanning away my whites inside......

I also missed bringing my son out. Initially I wanted to bring my son out on this sunday, but apparently, this sunday's my mum's and 2 aunties' birthday celebration at some restaurant in orchard. I might jus bring junior along as well cos he's very used to these things.... heehee....

I dun understand why I keep packing and packing and packing but the whole house still looked sooooooo untidy. I really seriously dun understand. And I keep mopping and cleaning but the floor still feels weird..... of cos its better la, but still, I dun feel very comfortable yet.....

Tomorrow I'm going drinking at Clarke Quay with my colleagues (15 of them)..... Opening 3 bottles I heard...... CHEONG ah......i seriously hope they open some 18years old whiskey or something like tat..... I sooooooo miss dong bar's 18years old scotch whiskey.......

My tendon is still not very good yet and my colleagues asked me to go tui na. Wa, I think I will bite the hand off the physician...... cos its painful lor...... If it doesn't improve by this weekend, most prob next week I will go tui na.....

Any good tui na to recommend?

The 1st pic is the normal one (although it looks FAT ok), see you can still see the ankle part, the tendon and the bone of the ankle.

This 2nd pic shows you the swollen right ankle. My Tendon is swollen to the extent that it cannot be seen. Even the ankle bone also cannot be seen.....

Well, today I'm back at work but with my ankle in bandages. Cos it still hurts a bit so I jus wrap it up after rubbing the anti-inflammation gel on it. The medication works really well. The ankle part is not so swollen already, and the pain has greatly lessen.....

And yesterday, I had a super duper great treat from Kenji. He finally cooked dinner for me. This valentine's day meal has been postponed sooooooo long already.

He cooked Rib Eye Steak, soup and potatoes for me!!!!

Yummy Yummy!!!!! And the best part was, I didnt go toilet after eating the dinner.... hiak hiak hiak.....

And he promised to cook spaghetti the next round for me!!!! YEAH...... I feel so "xing fu" (Blissful) ...... heehee.......

So TFT members pls take note, next time you wan breakfast, lunch or dinner for your mahjong and dai di sessions, pls call my paria and reserve your meals........ hahahahahaahhaa.....

aH bER iS mAd.... hELp

Ah ber is on a diet starting from TODAY. Although in the morn I ate cereal with milo, but breakfast is very important ma, so its ok one.

Then for lunch ah ber went to buy pineapple (1st time I'm buying pineapple and eating it), guava & rock melon. And ah ber is also drinking lots of water (unfortunately, sweet ones), but I will make sure I put lots of ice and add extra water to the syrups.

During lunch time ah ber walked for 45mins, buying my mop, pails and lots of household necessaties and put them into tortilla. For this 2 mths, tortilla has been of lots of help. 1

1stly he try his best not to breakdown. 2ndly, he try his best not to drink too much petrol, 3rdly, he try to multi-task into a van. I love you tortilla.

Junior's been quite cooperative till this morn. This morn he peeed in the room, and I sprayed the area with vinegar water but I wasn't too angry, cos last nite weather was quite cold. He must have been cold tat's why he peeed in the room.

I wonder if niu niu is pregnant. I wan a rat baby. Brandy jus finished her period. Damn. Nothing for junior already. Heehee. He tried to hump the blanket but he stopped short of doing it cos I was starring at him.

Yesterday lena and me were discussing about our furkids. We both decided that our furkids are actually very smart (with the exception of mouse tze and brandy).

Help. I am so damn bored. I better sit here quietly and pretend to be busy by typing my blog or else they might jus decide to send me back to HQ for good and I'LL DIE THERE. No freedom at all (unless i pick up smoking and can disappear to "xi du") and MORE THINGS to do.

Suddenly i feel so happy to have 1 whole room to myself. I can dig my nose, I can take off my shoes and cross my feet on the chair, I can lie straight on the floor and NAP, I can fart as I like, I can burp as I like, I can scratch my bum, I can sit like a guy, I can fold paper airplanes and fly them around, I can sing KTV, I can bring junior to work, I can yak on the phone, I can write my blog and MSN freely, I can talk out loud. I can suddenly go mad. Hahahahhahaahaha.

The previous para already tells you I AM MAD liao. You think the room got no door and no window one ah. Everything i do inside, outside also can see lor.......

YEAH, next week I am on leave from mon to sun. Cos I WAN TO SLEEP. Siao ah. You think I have so many leave to take ah? - iTs jUs sOmE mAdnEss fRoM aH BEr. I cannot take leave till march leh, which is quite soon. Then I wan go BKK liao, go to the same place where me and kenji ROM ok? MUahhhhhhahahahahaaa. Ok I am mad.

If I drink too much milo, will I put on weight - ok this is a serious question. Cos after the fruits I am hungry and I wan to lose weight. Tell me wat to do? I should have boiled my carrots and celery and cabbage and brocolli and potatoes for lunch la, but this morn I woke up late (again). Hehehehe..... pls advice how to lose weight.

Food, drinks & FUN

Yesterday I went to Dong Bar with kenji, Alvin, Jerry, Alex, Ah Cheng & his wife.

We ordered like dunno how many baskets of finger foods. I think 2-3 baskets each for every item - Deep Fried Toufu, Chicken Drumlets, Nuggets, Sausages......

And as usual, we had DRINKS. My God. Kenji bought a $300+, 18yrs scotch whiskey. And I LOVE IT soooooooooooo much...... People who know me, know that I dun drink neat, or on the rocks for these drinks like whiskey, JD, Vodka, bourbon...etc.

But for this one, I only added ice and I drank it on the rocks. Wow. Its really smooth and it doesn't irritate my tongue. And I love it sooooooo much that I jus sat there and drank glass after glass.

Then came along this chinese waitress who didnt know her limits as well. So we bought her some drinks (10 barcadi breezers) and made her drink with us. I downed 3 barcardi breezers and 2 hooches and had beer and a few glasses of BAILEYS (thanks to Alex). :)

Then Kenji ordered Sashimi platter - YEAH. He ordered 2 trays of Sashimi platter and 1 huge tray of fresh oysters. I LOVE the oysters................ I normally dun eat fresh oysters too but this one, I REALLY LOVE IT......... so smooth, so juicy, so tasty, so soft, so yummy.....

After all the nice nice food, we had champagne cos Kenji said we should practice for our wedding. Hahahahaha. And the boss of Dong Bar was quite amazed that I knew how to open the bottled of champagne. Of cos la wilson, I am Ah ber leh.... I am not very clever, but not stupid as well leh.

Then we all toasted and then Jerry puked. Hahahahaahahaha. I wonder why rachel didnt come down with her 10boxes of top-shell as promised..... And I wonder why the stone stone alvin didnt puke. Hahahahaha.

But we enjoyed urselves singing KTV and drinking and eating. Ah Cheng's wife can really drink and she likes baileys too. Yeah.....

And best part is, kenji was high high too and he said lots of nice nice words to me. Heehee. I jus wan to tell you that I love you very much darling. And never do things to betray my trust and our love will be the one song that everyone will sing of and be envious of. We will be together forever and our vows will be for life. We will support each other to the end and we will definately have many more better days to share with each other in the future to come. We will build a good family together and live happily ever after in our fairytale story.

Then after our drinking session I went back to serangoon north to collect something from my aunty like at 11plus pm and then I went to bradel to stay over. I dunno wat nonsense I was talking to Rina cos I cannot remember the conversation details. Hahaha. Cos I was high high into the sky.

But i remember sleepin with my son. Heehee. He was at my bum the whole nite. And we slept like babies together. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH my baby boy.......

Junior finally got it + CNY is coming!!!

Junior finally got it. They had a break on sat and on sun, niu niu was brought down to rina's place and within 10mins I received a call from rina saying they were stuck together. Haahahahaha. It sounded so comical the way she described it.

They were stuck for more than 15mins I think. Hahahahaha. And both of them looked quite puzzled as to wat was happening. Junior couldn't sit properly so I think he must be quite pissed off.

Anyway I couldn't visit cos I had my cramps as it was my 1st day. But I rested for a while and I went shopping!!

I went to a shop selling wedding stuff in Outram. Not very cheap but the aunty was very helpful. I bought the bedside lanterns, the tea ceremony teaset, the needle poker with babies around me (I think this one symbolise many babies rite - hahahahaah) I think its a good time to buy so that junior can have more babies and me too. At the moment junior is leading in the babies thing cos Ms Lena told me brandy is also on heat. Hahahaha. Junior's getting alot this month. Dunno will he get too tired and exhausted or not. Hahahahahaha.

Actually i also dunno wat they symbolise but as long as its good meaning, can buy lor. Nearer to the date Kenji has to get the "an chuang" things for the bed too. Cos if I buy yesterday then the things will go mouldy fast. Hahahahaha.

After that we went shopping at the market there and had our dinner there too. Couldn't eat much too, but still managed to eat (actually I seriously think I am quite fat now - I look at my arms in the mirror and I am fed-up)

After that we went people's park to walk walk and shop shop and my mum bought her top for my wedding. Nice nice one from OG. We also walked the little little shops in the complex but not very interesting.

I also bought a top for CNY - 1st time I am buying my CNY clothes way way before CNY. I usually either buy it a day before at either tekka or chinatown or in town or the eve itself in chinatown while walking the nite market.

Who wan to go with me to chinatown on the eve????? Any volunteers? I should be driving but will be parking a bit further from chinatown. Anyone wan to ABSORB the CNY mood with me on the eve at chinatown's SMITH ST? Hahahahaha.

Quite exciting that CNY is around the corner - cos it means HOLIDAYS for me. Hahahahahha.

And next week is going to be a GREAT WEEK.

On the 5th feb (tues), company giving ang bao (rumoured to be $50) and 2 oranges.

On 6th feb (wed), company releasing at 1.30pm - YEAH!! I can go do last min shopping. And then I going to have reunion dinner with my family at ZI RAN restaurant again cos my popo like the food there. And then after dinner maybe I will join kenji or go to chinatown or spend CNY eve quietly with my darling son.

On 7th feb (thu) - 1st day of CNY..... YEAH!! Ang bao time!!! I will bring oranges and gong xi gong xi to everyone I see and get ang bao. Hahahahahahaha. Remember to give one for Junior too cos he'll go round with me ok. He got this golden CNY shirt from Shuling which he will be wearing for CNY to go round gong xi gong xi with me. YEAH!!

The rest of the days most prob I will be sleeping or gambling or stuffing myself with the goodies so if your house have CNY goodies like pineapple tarts, kueh bankit, kueh baulu, love letters, butter cookies, kok chye (baby curry puffs), BAH KUA, Soft drinks, beer, liquor...etc

PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL ME...... Thank you very much. I will ZOOM to your house with Junior - cos he like bah kua too. Hahahahahaha.

The best thing is, no work and no class (for whole week) YEAH.......

I was aiming the turkey ever since I laid my eyes on it. I helped mum to prepare part of the food since morn and I had been eyeing the turkey since then.

Why? Cos the turkey is huge......






I like the last picture - as wat Lena said, we are a happy family. Kenji showed his fatherly skills while carrying Shakira and amazingly, she didnt cry. I guess Kenji would be very good with his daughters and he really have that fatherly figure lor....
