A poem about R.A.I.N

Its raining out there....

Have you wondered if the one you love is comfortable at home,
or
Are they out there in the rain?

Have you looked at the rain and find it so amazing that the droplets can make such a great impact when they fall against the window panes,
or
Have you always looked at the rain as a nuisiance?

Do you love the rain cos you can be cosy at home,
or
Do you hate the rain cos you cannot go out and play?

Does the rain make you happy cos you can be home with the ones you love,
or
Does the rain make you sad because the cold makes you lonelier?

Is your heart raining as well,
or
Is your heart getting warmer with the love inside?

Will the rain wash the memories away,
or
Will your wounds be stinging because of the rain?

Does the rain give you a feeling of longing,
or
Does the rain give you a sense of belonging?

What can you do when its raining out there,
or
What can you do when the rain doesn't stop?

Do you fall together with the rain,
or
Do you wait for the rainbow after the rain........

Regrets

I know I should be in bed already cos I felt quite tired earlier on.

But I'm walking down memory lane (again). I guess everyone of us have our fair share of regrets, our fair share of laughter and our fair share of tears.

I used to have my regrets. But I realised that while I was sooooo focused on looking at that regret, I missed out on the precious things surrounding it.

1stly, time passes. You may come to a standstill in your life when you jus hold on to it and you jus fix ur focus on it and you forgot that time still runs..... so the longer you hold on, the more regret you will feel and the more time you will waste.

2ndly, we miss out on the people who genuinely cared. These people are family, friends and they are people who love us. When we fix our focus on this regret, when we hold on, we neglect them. We forget about them cos our tots are with our regret.

3rdly, the lesson learnt. We become obsessed with the regret that we forgot that this regret is teaching us a lesson in life. We are taught to appreciate things when they are with us, not only when they are gone from our lives. We are taught that nothing can last forever in this world and even the best things may be taken away from us in time to come. We are taught that things do break and the most fragile, breakable thing in the world, is actually our heart. We are taught to learn from this regret so that we live our lives properly and do not have anymore regrets.

I will never regret the things that happened in the past again. Because I believe that letting go of my regrets will ensure that better things will come into my life again. Although I hold on to the hope that miracles will happen, I know its up to God to arrange. And I believe in miracles.

I know eventually God will answer my prayers in the best way He can. Even if it might not be the ways that I wished it would be, or maybe I will not have it at all, I still trust in Him because I know that maybe without wat I wanted, my life would be happier, would be better, would be more fulfilled..... I know God would work out a miracle for me. I am waiting.....

I always use to ask myself "why" things happen. And I am glad that I have come to the stage when I can question "why am I feeling like this?" and "wat can I do to make things better?" And evaluate the pros and cons in allowing myself to wallow in pity and being sadistically slaved to my feelings.

I realise that I am the master of my body and I try - I may not succeed totally in evicting the negative energies and negative tots and negative emotions out of me, because people still do affect me externally, but at least i try my best to stay positive and steady as a rock..... A great improvement from the past where I am easily affected by the emotions, easily affected by anyone in fact......

Darkness wrote:
"It took me a few years before I could say your name again because every mention of your name took my breath away cos it hurt too much. Every tot of you racked my body with pain because I missed your touch, I missed your lips, I missed your hugs, I missed everything about you.

You took my soul. And my spirit is bleeding because your smile, your laughter, your kind words, your beauty - they were no longer for me. My world became dark because you were my sun and you no longer shine for me. My nites became cold because you took your warmth away."

PS: This one song. It tells u everything that I wan to say. Wat about you?

Keeping Your Relationship Fresh and Strong

Keeping Your Relationship Fresh and Strong
Many relationships deteriorate with time, just as muscles atrophy over a long period of under-usage. The principle is the same - just as muscles are built and maintained by consistent exercise, relationships need to be massaged regularly to keep them fresh and strong. The tips I'm about to share with you will not be news to you (in fact, you'll probably remember frequently using them during the courtship or "honeymoon" phase), but it's surprising just how many couples fail to employ them to keep their relationships healthy.

First of all, maintain eye contact with each other. When you look deeply into someone else's eyes, you're communicating a powerful commitment, a presence of mind that says "I am here for you, I am listening to you, I am interested in you." Eye contact with each other is usually one of the first things to go and it's virtually imperceptible; most couples don't even realize that they can go for days even without actually looking into each other's eyes.

Next, always let your spouse know that he or she is important to you. You may like to verbalise it or you might express it in other ways, it's up to you, but make sure that you consistently send signals to your spouse that you appreciate having him or her in your life.

Don't take anything for granted. Appreciate every little thing your spouse does for you, whether it's picking the baby up from your in-laws every day, cooking your favourite dish, driving you to work, doing the laundry, or cuddling in bed. All the things they do for you, that they really don't have to, are little reminders of just how much you mean to them. Don't be deaf to these reminders.

Next, keep up the physical contact with each other; and I don't mean just sex. Small gestures like hugs, gentle hand squeezes, your arm around her waist during walks, or head massages send powerful, reinforcing messages to your spouse that help keep the passion alive. These are things we usually don't do with family members or friends, and they convey an exclusive intimacy.

And don't bring the stresses of your workplace home. Certainly your spouse should lend you a sympathetic ear when you really need to let out your frustrations, but consistently complaining to your spouse about your work sends a message that you're using him or her as a dumping ground for your work-related problems. That you don't respect the relationship enough to give it the tenderness it deserves. So leave your work at the office; at the end of the day, you should be enjoying some relaxing time with your spouse.

Three Principles for Fulfilling Relationships

Three Principles for Fulfilling Relationships
There are three principles that we should understand well before committing to any romantic relationship. If you're already in a relationship, studying these principles intimately and practicing them will help ensure a lasting, satisfying relationship.

Unrealistic expectations are usually what drive a couple apart, so the first principle to understand is that your partner does not owe you your happiness. This may sound strange because why else would we want to enter relationships if not to find happiness?

Sure, we should derive joy from our relationships but our partner should not bear the duty of giving us joy. Joy should be the spontaneous consequence of two people sharing feelings of love for each other, not the result of one party constantly striving to fulfill the other's needs. When we expect our partner to make us happy, we set up opportunities for failure, and each time our partner fails to meet our demands, we lose respect and affection for him or her. Besides, love doesn't mean consistently giving in to our demands. And love doesn't mean always making us happy. What gives our joy may not always be in our best interests. And love can sometimes mean hardship and pain.

The second principle for fulfilling relationships is to love your partner for who they are. Don't love a fantasy version of them you hope will emerge in the future. Many people enter a relationship thinking that in time, their partners will change, but this often doesn't happen. Your partner entered the relationship believing that this is what you fell in love with. He or she doesn't see any reason to change.

Loving your partner for who they are also means accepting their flaws, or what you deem to be flaws. Each person has attractive qualities as well as some habits or characteristics we may not find so beguiling. But we should love our partners in spite of the qualities we don't appreciate as much as the others. There is no perfect lover, like there is no perfect gadget. You're always going to have to trade off certain features for other ones you find more suited to you. And when you run into conflict over those undesirable features, your love for the whole product should be more than enough to make you overlook the flaws and still embrace your partner. So ask yourself "If my partner upsets me, will I be able to look past the words and actions and still love the person?"

The third and final principle is to love and respect yourself as much as you love and respect your partner. This is because if you feel inadequate compared to your partner, you might become obsessed with fulfilling his or her needs and neglect your own. Over time, your partner will learn to take you for granted and you will no doubt begin to feel like you got the short end of the stick.

Maintaining fulfilling relationships is no easy job, but understanding and practising these three principles should help you a great deal.

The Flame in you & me....

Yesterday 081207 TFT had an event at Jumbo @ Serangoon Gardens. I'm waiting for more pics to be up on the TFT webby before I can share with you on the FOOD and the fun things we did.

Been exposed to different types of emotions since the morning. Saw the blogs of some of my friends, read their happiness flowing thru their blog entries on happy occasions with their beloved ones and empathise with the sorrowful entries seeking for consolation for their empty hearts, grieving souls and broken spirits.

In the past, I used to attach myself very closely to the emotions of those around me. I feel together with them. And their every emotion is reflected on me and my emotions revolve around them. I get involved deeply and get hurt deeply too.

Its not that I do not care now. But there are many things I cannot do. I cannot live their life for them, or with them, unless I am really a part of them, unless I love them and they love me too. I can only offer a listening ear, maybe a shoulder to lean on, maybe some loving advice and suggestions, maybe a hug or 2, maybe some tissues.....

Maybe thru years of scarring, will you then learn the hurt and detach yourself from stuff that could hurt you. I know clearly the pain of living when the one you loved so much is not with you, not the one you are able to spend your remaining days with, not the one who chose you, not the one to be by your side when you needed them the most, not the one ultimately.....

Saying, doing and escaping from the reality are totally different things. You can say something, you can do something to prove wat you jus said, but you can never lie to yourself that you escaped reality.

Some people know of their fate before they jump into something, but they still jump into it because there is always a hope that things would be wat you hoped. Everyone of us carry a torch of hope inside us and it can never be extinguished unless its the person who lit the flame. And the person who lit the flame is normally not the person whom you hoped for, the person IS YOU.

You chose to lit the flame, you chose to allow this flame to burn inside you, you chose to hold this torch for that someone and ignore the other flames buring around you, because YOU CHOSE IT. But you forgot that the fire, the flame, the passion, the LOVE, the emotions, everything - can only burn bigger and turn into a huge furnace, when 2 flames are put together.

You can choose to burn alone, and burn yourself out by holding on. You can choose to foolishly burn yourself out for someone who doesn't appreciate you, and may never put their flame together with yours for a miracle cure for your longing HOPE. And you can also choose to burn for someone else.

Of cos the fire will definately leave a burnt mark - which flame doesn't leave a burnt mark? Which flame doesn't hurt when you touch it? Which flame doesn't scar you?

Extinguishing this one flame, will hiss with pain when the water is poured over it to put it out. The stubborn ones will re-ignite like the magic candles, and may only be put out when the catalyst creating the flame is truly extinguished - in this case, the magic wick or the hot and burning coals or charcoal or wood conducting the fire.....

Extinguishing the flame hurts as no one wan to be missing the warmth of the fire and no one wan to feel cold. But there are still many fires to be lit. There are still the flames of the ones who appreciate you, the flames of your good friends by your side..... never give the cold shoulder or neglect the flame of the ones burning FOR you. Cos as I mentioned, the flames burning alone, will extinguish when 2 flames are not burning together and they die out when you neglect them.

I hope one day, You will be able to look back at this flame that you extinguished and rely on the good memories this flame brought you and how you tended to the fire that it burned with such great passion and love from your side, and smile, because you know you did your best but the one you burned for, did not appreciate you enough to add their flame to yours.

PS: Suddenly I feel so full of "INK" Haha...... My flame is still burning....... Wat about you - the ones I love and the ones who love me? Will you add your flame to mine so that we can keep burning with passion, burning with friendship, burning with everything that you have got till the end of our days? Even though I do not speak and you dun hear from me often, but I do hope that you know, You are on my mind and in my heart every moment of my days and my days are happy because you are happy..... Who are you burning for? Am I one of them?

Appreciate your lover

Adapted from Bar Advice's Bloggy..... he does give sound advice sometimes.....

Appreciate your lover

We tend to overlook the things that are right in front of our face. Think about it, do you write your lover a thank you card for every little gift you're presented with? Probably not but you would never forget to write or say so to your mother for the same gesture.

Take stock of the things (and people) in your life that you're grateful for. Don't forget the person lying next to you. Ask yourself if you've shown your gratitude to the individual who brings you the most pleasure in life. Your lover! Here's some things that you can do do keep things hot and fresh and also appreciative.

Make a date.
Sometimes it's easy to take each other for granted. After all, you've got commitments, other people are counting on you and more. Your schedule is tight and when you get home from work or the late hours, you're exhausted! It's not exactly hot love time and it's certainly not time for planning.

The good news is, your lover knows this because most likely, they're feeling it too. So, if you really want to make them feel special, schedule some time to show them a little appreciation. How that manifests is up to you but a full body massage, a hot soak in the tub (together!), dinner late night by candlelight are all easy options that don't require much effort, yet they speak volumes. What you're going for is something that says It's just you and me, babe! The gesture (whether naughty, nice or some saucy combo) will help remind them that, even when you're torn in a many directions, they're still first and foremost in your head and heart.

Technological advances.
Whether it's via cell phone, text message, email or IM, these days, we're all accessible at the touch of a button. Oftentimes the constant communication can be annoying. We come to expect requests and lists at any time of day and mid-day messages become just one more thing to add to our already over scheduled lives but we're all willing to be surprised! In addition to easy access, technology also offers us a chance to say the things we otherwise might not have the courage to say… In other words, a chance to talk dirty without fear of embarrassment!

Just when your partner thinks you're messaging to say, "Can you pick up the dry cleaning?" or that you'll be late coming home. Surprise them with something sexy and suggestive. Bonus points if it's a promise for when they get home!

Fantasies do come true.
If you've been paying attention, your lover probably has, at some point or another, expressed an interest in something romantic. Think back. If it wasn't directly stated, did they ooh and ahh over a commercial you've seen or a story they've read? Did you notice them quietly raise an eyebrow at something risque? Sometimes, it's easier to figure out what they'd like than you think. Be open to clues that they generate but keep it to yourself.

Is there anything that you haven't acted on yet? A desire to be served breakfast in bed, perhaps, or one to be pampered with a relaxing foot massage. Maybe it's something more scandalous like indulging in a sexual fantasy via role-play or something more naughty. Now is the time to act on it. No matter what you do to show appreciation to your one and only, it will be worth the effort!

Bar advice. There are many more ways as well. If both keep this cycle of constant appreciation the journey together will be a joyous one.

Empower Yourself

Empower Yourself

Everyone goes through murky patches of their lives when they start feeling, for apparently no good reason at all, empty and directionless. This can happen when we're living on auto-pilot, getting lost in the rhythm of the ever turning wheels, and having no clear idea what we want or what we're doing. This lack of vision and control can be very disempowering.

So here are some ways you can reclaim control of your life and empower yourself to move into the future with confidence.

First, ask yourself "What do I want?" It's a simple question but the answer can be unexpectedly complex. Most of us don't even think about this question. But it's the most important thing you need to establish. Do you want more money? Give more love? Spend more time with your children? More health? Really meditate on this and listen to what comes back.

Next, ask yourself "What is stopping me from getting what I want?" Is it doubt? As in "I don't think I can go without a regular income." Or is it limiting beliefs? Such as "I'm too old for that." What about attachment? The unwillingness to let go of certain things in order for other things to come into your life. Upon close examination, you'll find that these things really can't hold you back. It's just fear.

Then look at where you are today. Are you getting from it all that you want? Or are you unhappy with the way things are? Even if you think you're miserable, you're getting something from it, otherwise you would have tried to get out of the situation. Many of us languish in self-pity because we're feeding our insecurities. Somewhere deep inside, we actually do like where we are because it means we don't have to take any action towards change. Change frightens us and so we make up the excuse that we're in a hopeless situation and continue doing nothing.

But the human spirit grows thin when it remains in an unchallenging place for too long. The emptiness you feel is precisely because you've not allowed for change to transform your life. You're doing the same thing which gives you no satisfaction day in day out and your heart is crying out for help. So the key really is to decide what you have to do to start changing your life in positive ways. And really take action.

Even small actions, like walking up the steps at the office instead of taking the lift gives you an empowering feeling of moving forward all the time.

How Do You Measure Happiness?

How Do You Measure Happiness?
Happiness is something that most people are concerned about and want. Athenian philosopher Aristotle once said that "Happiness is the end for which human beings are designed."

But, it seems that many people are confused about happiness. Sure, we know that it's important, but it's surprising how many people are not happy and how many are looking for happiness in the wrong places.

Some of us think the more we have the happier we'll be. Think about the times in your life when you bought something because you thought it would make you happy. How long did the joy last? On hindsight, was it really worth the effort and money? There is so much pressure in our culture to buy and to have. But there is a rude awakening to actually attaining the things that you think will make you happy. It is often so disappointing. How many times have you wanted something, only to find once you had it, it didn't give you the joy and happiness that you expected?

Someone else cannot make you happy. One of the myths of our society is that finding the perfect mate will bring perfect happiness. However, people who depend on others for their personal happiness are often bitterly disappointed. True happiness comes from knowing yourself, your values, and what you like to do, not from someone else knowing these things about you.

We also have to understand that happiness is not guaranteed. It is not a right. If we can fully understand this truth, then we'll cherish happiness more when it comes, and grieve less when it goes.

Questions about human happiness are not new; they have been asked throughout time. But no one else can really tell you how to find happiness. Also, what makes you happy changes with time. In reality happiness is a personal thing with as many varieties as there are individuals. The bottom line is that we are all experts on our own personal happiness, no one else holds the key or the answers to it. I would like to end this programme by sharing a statement by Robert Louis Stevenson:

"Make the best of your circumstances, No one has everything and everyone has something of sorrow intermingled with the gladness of life. The trick is to make the laughter outweigh the tears. Don't take yourself too seriously. You can't please everybody; don't let your neighbours set your standards, do the things you enjoy doing, but stay out of debt. Don't borrow trouble. Imaginary things are harder to bear than the actual ones. Since hate poisons the soul, do not cherish enmities, grudges. Don't hold post-mortems. Don't spend your life brooding over sorrow and mistakes. Don't be one who never gets over things. Do what you can for those less fortunate than yourself. Keep busy at something. A very busy person never has time to be unhappy."

Committment

I read one of the blogs that I have been reading daily. And she had found THE ONE..... She described how they met and finally after a few turbulent relationships, they finally got together. They met each other in school days and they only recently got together for 7mths and he proposed.

She mentioned in her blog....

"you don't need 2-3 years to know if the person is the one for you. if he/she is not the one, even if you are together for years doesn't make a difference cause he/she still will not be the one you want. If a person will change for you, he/she will do so within the first few months. If he/she is not willing, they will still be the same after 10 years."

"So how do we know if our bf/gf is the one for us? First, we have to commit ourselves to the relationship. Do not expect your partner to commit first. We have to first commit. He/she will feel the difference when you are committed and if they are the one, they will commit too. If not, then the 2 of you will part on a good note, and your true love will come eventually."

So I realised its all about committment. Do I have wat it takes for commitment or am I jus so scared of committing again?

Moving on

Moving on
I guess it's the same all over the world when it comes to people breaking up or divorce. They can't seem to be able to move on. Women especially have a really hard time.

There are days of tears and pain that the heart feels and a sense of loss. Lots of times the person that feels the worse may actually be the one that made the situation difficult. They may not even be aware that there was a problem till it was too late. Many guys make a fatal mistake by taking their partners for granted. they believe that even if they did something wrong they would be forgiven and all will be fine. Guys have been too pampered by their mothers to know what a wife or girlfriend really is.

Loosing sight that your partner as an individual will damage the relationship. Being upfront, honest and open minded that your partner is faithful to you and the relationship will stir both people in the right way. Letting him or her live their life while still being together is better than to smutter them with affection while restraining them all together. This makes the other person turn to deceptive methods of doing the things that they want to do and if found out will be explosive to the relationship.

Moving on after the relationship is over can be hard. Most people, especially women, find it difficult to trust another man again. It all depends on what they went through before and the cause of the split. Guys fear that the next girl will turn out to be the same, if not worse, than the first one. The sense of trust really will have been faded and there's no security blanket for a broken heart. Some go on for years alone after a break up and later find that it may be too late by the time their ready to hit the dating scene again.

The right choice for people would have to be a open dialogue between themselves so that all mistrust and misunderstandings are ironed out. The relationship should have certain goals and both will need to fulfill them. Expectations will need to be met as well. Communication must be constant and intentions need to be truthful. Following this will makes things better if you're moving on to a new person so you don't fall flat on your face again and your heart won't hurt as well.

Bar advice. Ask yourself, better still ask your partner, why you're in the relationship. The answers may surprise you.

$20.00

$20.00

Sometimes we just need to be reminded!

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands were up in the air.

Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?"

Still the hands went into the air.

My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.

Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE and WHOSE WE ARE. You are special. Don't EVER forget it.

If you do not pass this on, you may never know the lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to, or the hope that it can bring.

Count your blessings, not your problems.

And remember: amateurs built the ark .. professionals built the Titanic.

Bonding With Your Partner

Bonding With Your Partner
In any given moment in our relationship with our partner, we are in one of two possible intents - the intent to have control over getting love and avoiding pain, and the intent to learn about being loving to ourselves and to others.

Virtually all of us have learned many ways of trying to have control over getting love and avoiding pain. We learned these defensive behaviours when we were children, and as adults we unconsciously continue these learned controlling behaviors. For example, we may use anger, criticism, withdrawal, resistance, or compliance. For most people, these protective, controlling behaviors have become automatic and habitual. As soon as any fear is triggered, we automatically protect against the fear by arguing, blaming, attacking, judging, shutting down, resisting, or giving in.

In a relationship, if one or both partners are closed, protected, or controlling, then they cannot emotionally connect with each other. No matter how much time they spend together with the typical romantic trappings, like candles, wine or expensive lingerie, the connection will not be there. Ironically, when the intent is to get love or avoid pain, what we create is a lack of love and much pain.

However, if both partners are open to learning, they will be emotionally available to each other, and can bond with a touch, a smile, or a kind word. The big challenge in relationships is to stay open to learning about loving. Because we automatically and unconsciously revert to our protective, controlling behaviour in the face of fear, being open to learning needs to be a conscious choice. Developing the ability to make a conscious choice regarding your intent is a learning process. The hallmark of higher consciousness is being able to choose your intent each and every moment, even in the face of fear.

In your interactions with your partner, do you always seek to be right? Do you strive to protect your own feelings rather than risk opening your heart? Do you have the courage to swallow your pride in order to avoid an argument? Do you listen and seek to understand instead of talking all the time?

When relationship partners are both able to reliably choose to be open to learning about loving themselves and each other, they create a sweet and safe environment for their love to flourish. Candles, flowers, vacations, and so on are simply icing on the cake.

Making the relationship last.

Adapted from Bar Advice's bloggie http://bar-advice.blogspot.com

Making the relationship last.

Have you ever wondered why some intimate relationships work and others don’t? Why so many of us seem to have the same relationships with a series of different people? Some people can easily find a mate while others struggle. Why? Is there a way you can accelerate the process of uncovering and living your natural loving nature?

The explanation for most vexing relationship questions is actually quite simple. The majority of our relationships, as well as our patterns of relating in general, are based on need rather than love. This is probably no surprise to you. However, it may surprise you that there is something you can do about it. Stop looking for love in all the wrong places.

Most of us are on a quest for love that amounts to trying to fill a leaky cup. Every time we appear to get love from an external source, especially from another person, it merely reinforces the belief that love can be found outside us. So, the feeling of receiving love or approval inherently has "leakage". This includes the fear of losing love, resentment towards the people we feel we need to get it from, and the simple act of looking away from the love that we, by nature, already are. Sometimes it's years of frustration during our youth at home that builds into a swell and when we don't get the love from the external source later or we find that the external source does the same things as home, we are devastated. We ask, "where is love".

Good news. You can turn each of these dilemmas around simply by letting go of wanting love or approval. You can also hasten the process by looking for mutual ways to love, as opposed to getting it, and mutual ways to give love, in addition to receiving it.

If you’re in any kind of an intimate relationship with a life partner, friend, or family member, and you can reach the point where you simply love the other person as he or she is, as best you can, then both of you can relax and be authentic with each other. This promotes much healthier, more satisfactory interactions. A fine example was when Steadman told Oprah that the wig she wore that resembled Tina Turner did not suit her. He said that none of her workers would dare say a thing but he had to because she wasn't Tina. She realized it and even on TV told this story to make a point that love means having the ability to say anything and the other person knows that they will never hurt them. Only help.

If the relationship is to last both sides have to ensure they are honest and truthful to the other. You don't need the approval of your partner on every issue but you need their counsel and concern. So to should you do the same for them in return.

Bar advice. We make mistakes at times but isn't it better to know the other person won't be there to judge you.

Quality Time

Prior to my earlier post, Ms Kerin asked me another ques.... and I dunno why she got so many ques for me to answer.... She asked me how to define quality time. I think that quality time is time where you enjoy the company of the people you were with, know, understand more about them and these times will be with you and make you smile when you relive them.

Did you know that research shows that most children with traumatic childhood will die before age 30. That is because we all want love and human contact.

Some other scientists also did research and found that if a baby is given food and water and absolutely no human contact, they will die. The fact tat you are alive and reading here now is cos you are loved.

Please pass the love on and pay it forward!

What do you think about quality time? Leave a comment on wat you think....

Philosophy

The past few days passed so slowly. I haven't been sleeping well because there are some things weighing on my mind and my insomnia was due to unnecessary overloading of my bird brain. I wondered and pondered alot.

And it always happens and now I know how to cure it. I jus have to think and think and think and when my brain sorts out everything, I'll be fine. Wat happens if my bird brain doesn't sort things out? Then I gotta write and write and write in my diary and sleep on the issue and everything will be fine, cos most of the issues dun need me to sort out, they jus sort themselves out cos its not possible for them to happen.

Maybe I am jus not contented enough la. I have everything I have now, yet I am not contented la. Humans are really greedy, at least I am greedy..... haha I am a typical human. I feel I am getting no where. Where is the ultimate goal? No goal is good enough for me I think....

When things settle down, then I feel better la, like now lor....

Of cos I find ways to calm myself down la, like go SHOPPING or eating CHOCOLATES or spend time with the people I love and who love me.....

I jus hope that this time round, the people ard me better have more heart dealing with me... cos i am also jus a fragile human being, deprived of love, deprived of things I wanted and would appreciate love and care and concern from the people who love me.....

Ms Kerin posted me a question last mth. If I have my last 24hours on earth, who do I wan to spend it with.....

If everyone else have also 24hours left, I will spend it with Junior, cos I know junior will wan to spend it with me. Everyone else have their commitments and other people they love too, so they most probably will spend it with the people they wan to spend it with, and most probably, that person is not me..... so I jus dun disturb.... hahahaha.....

If only me have 24hours left, I will go to a place, most probably is the beach or some place on earth I haven't been before that I really badly wan to go, I will go there and wait for my death and let those who really love me and wan to see me the last time to come and see me if they wan to..... only then will I know who really love me.....

Quality vs Quantity....

Which one is important? Someone once told me quantity time is not good enough, not the same as quality time together.... I dunno how far this statement affects anyone of you out there..... but I believe that all the time I spent with anyone, is quality time because I put in my best effort and all my time and I try to make my best out of any time I spend with anyone.... so the more time I have with someone, the more quality time I spend with them.....

No quantity means no quality.... ya understand? How to have quality when you dun even make time for me????

Tots

2 days ago was my anniversary. If we made it this year, it would have been 6years. Some tots came into me while I was driving.... and its not really easy to pen these down at 2am on a friday morn..... but i'll try anyway....

Does the male always expect the female's position to be in the kitchen and be traditional and settle down when they have a family? Does the female always expect that the male will be romantic and loving and will hold hands till the end of their fate together? Does the new generation thinking really apply where both woman and man are equal?

How true can love be? Someone you love might not love you and you might not love the one who loves you. How ironic can life be? Is there love at 1st sight? When a couple passes the honeymoon period, wat is there to keep the passion and rekindle the fire in them when they all dun put in effort anymore to please each other?

Today is a rainy day. I tot my dreams last nite would wake me up in PMS mood again but i'm quite amazed it didnt. I am not in PMS mood, I am in emo mood..... hahahaha..... walking down memory lane.....

Saw this paragraph when I was reading my usual load of 20-30 blogs a day (and I dun make money out of that ok) and I find this very heart warming.....

"I love you even though you may not be lovable. I'll be there if you need me. I am always here for you. I'll watch over you from the shadows without you knowing. I asked God to give you his blessings instead of me, because I have enough blessings when I have you. My shoulder is always here for you no matter wat and I will hold the skies up when the world come crashing down.

I would give everything I have in this world if you needed everything. I would give my life for you should you need mine. Jus know that in this world, there is someone who loves you and that someone, is me. We may not be together forever in this lifetime but I jus wan you to know that I would do all these for you, simply because I LOVE YOU."

And hey, I didnt need chocolates today.... and I am feeling fine, I didnt get really mad at my student also..... hahaha..... something is wrong with me.... hahahahahah..... I must be mad..... felt restless though, but its usual for the monkey to feel restless when I am bored..... so i decided to do up my bloggie and let my faithful readers benefit from my boring day today.....

Time is An Illusion

Time is An Illusion

When we're feeling lousy or sad, we tend to forget that life does not go on forever. That every moment is an opportunity for love, knowledge, compassion, creation, and joy, and once gone, can never be retrieved. We are too fixated with the past and all its "could have"s and "should have"s, squander our precious present by feeling sorry for ourselves, and imagine a future that may not come to pass!

We've all been brought up to believe that time is quantity - 60 seconds make up one minute, 60 minutes make up an hour, 24 hours make up a day. But the meaning of time varies from person to person and from context to context.

Time is an illusion, a phantom, a delusion if you will. This moment is gone before I am finished saying "this moment". This 'moment' will virtually never exist! Time is not a thing, it has no substance...you can't touch it, you can't feel it, it cannot imprison you.

We should know not the quantity of our life, or our time spent on this earth - but we should value the quality of our life. Time by itself has no meaning - we have to give it meaning via our thoughts and actions.

There is so much happiness out there waiting for you. And there are plenty of people who can benefit from the joy you will bring them. You may now feel very lonely, and sad, and it may seem quite possible that you will never experience joy, love, spontaneity and fun again. Which is, of course, a most absurd thought. Don't worry, it's just the grief talking? the withdrawal, the initial disbelief and dejection.

It is never too late. Very often, when we lose something valuable to us, we think it's too late to salvage things, to express our love, to show our appreciation. What we fail to realise is that we have ample opportunities to do this with other people we love, and the ones we will come to love!

I urge you not to waste another moment of your life - you'll never get it back.

BITCHOLOGY

BITCHOLOGY

When I stand up for myself and my beliefs,
they call me a bitch.
When I stand up for those I love,
they call me a bitch.
When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts or do things my own way,
they call me a bitch.

Being a bitch means I won't compromise what's in my heart.
It means I live my life MY way.
It means I won't allow anyone to step on me.
When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak against it,
I am defined as a bitch.

The same thing happens when I take time for myself
instead of being everyone's maid, or when I act a little selfish.
It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself
to be who I truly am and won't become anyone else's idea
of what they think I "should" be. I am outspoken,
opinionated and determined. I want what I want and there
is nothing wrong with that!

So try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, try to
squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me. You won't
succeed. And if that makes me a bitch, so be it. I embrace
the title and am proud to bear it.

CHURCH + A NITE OUT

Saturday was a good day for me.

I went to meet Kerin and Chelsia at Spore Expo at 4.45pm and we went to CITY HARVEST CHURCH at Hall 7. For the 1st time in my life I realised that Kerin has actually been a christian for 7 YEARS. My God..... And I didnt even know I have such a great sister beside me..... God really works wonders when you least expect it....

The routine is still the same there, the praise and worship, then announcements, then sermons, then closing.....

I dun really merged with the songs...... cos i didnt really know them well but well, I still sang along cos I love God.

The preacher was Pastor Kong. I love him cos the way he speaks can move the hills and mountains and even the earth. The sermon was about the sets of 2 things that we can choose and GRACE.

I liked the part on GRACE. It was the 2nd half of the sermon and I was prepared to be starting to get restless and irritated for sitting down so long and be in a "classroom" again.... But I was amazed that all the restlessness went away when the 1st point hit me.... I see Pastor Kong as an instrument of God that God used to send His message to the people in the audience..... and at least 1 person in the audience dropped their JAW...... and it was me....

Because we believe in our God, we have the impression that God will love us no matter wat happens, no matter how bad we sin, we are still lovable and we still have God's grace upon us..... But I learnt....

1) Grace does not absolve us from the ten commandments (Exodus 20 of the bible) that are great sins of mankind that lead us to lawlessness, lead us to destruction, lead us to go to hell....

2) Grace is not the license to sin.

3) Grace does not absolve us from confessions.

4) Grace does not absolve us from sanctification.

5) Grace does not excuse us from works.

Every single point made me bow my head lower. Cos God was definately sending me a message, He was absolutely talking to me.....because I fail all 5 points....

1) His ten commandments: These are temptations and I know I have at least broke a few of them. I am not fluent with the bible, I dun read it at all, and I dun even know where each verse is, but I only know that I am true to myself and I know that I have sinned cos I am not perfect.

2) I always think that as long as i am a child of God, I will be forgiven even when I sin, and God's grace will always be with me. I even behave like a devil when I tempt church goers not to go to church but go to have fun with me (YOU KNOW WHO), saying that God will understand, God will forgive you..... see the circumstances....

I always say God will see the circumstances and the situation that you were in to make urself sin and forgive you for the circumstances around you....

But now I realise that you are the one looking at the circumstance. If we really love God, we would not look at circumstance but LOOK AT HIM..... and ignore the circumstance around us.... its not the circumstances that make u sin, its urself who CHOSE to look at the circumstance.....

3) Confessions. How many of us are actually brave enough to admit our mistakes and ask for forgiveness.... actually I am not brave enough. Everytime things happen, i get affected badly and I dun think clearly. I need days, weeks, mths, years to sort things straight. I need courage to say sorry and admit my mistakes. Even if I do admit my mistakes, I am admitting them unwillingly sometimes......jus for the sake of admitting.....

4) We need to constantly purify ourselves. In the sense of mind, in the sense of mentality, in the sense of spirituality, in the sense of our heart, in ourselves. Things come in and cloud our vision and we lose our way. That is why we become lost sheep. BTW, sheep is the dumbest animal on earth cos their brains are small..... they can NEVER find their way back from the fields that is why they need shephards and sheep dogs to guide them back to their enclosure every dusk....

5) Do not procrastinate about work. Cos work can tell others what kind of person are you. If you do a good work, no amount of fire can burn it down, but if you do a sloppy job, it will crash cos foundation is not there..... be it your job, be it your relationship, be it your friendship, be it anything you do...... do a good work out of it..... cos it will show in time.....

See.... I am guilty of ALL 5 points......

I decided to CHANGE THE WORLD by Acts of Random Kindness (ARK) by building an ark, not outside to show people, but inside to store the kindness, the goodness, the best things I want for myself and others and SHINE..... (bullshit ok)

I going to reflect on my life and think of things that I have not done my best and endeavour to do them better the next opportunity I get....

Anyway, after church, the words of the sermon were still rooted deep within me....

But I still needed to eat.... so me and Kerin and Chelsia went to TIAN FU for dinner..... YEAH..... and after dinner we picked Wendy up and went for a movie cos we ran out of ideas as to where to go. We went to Century Square at 11plus......

With no show in mind that we wanted to watch, we jus happen to see EVAN ALMIGHTY with jus 1 min left to showtime. We grabbed 3 tickets and went in, jus nice to sit down and escape all the commercials.....and the show started.....

This show was partly about obedience to God and that evil things will be revealed so no point doing them.....

Again I learnt something from the movie...... I learnt that God does not give you the EXACT things you always wanted, because He wanted to give you something better. And ALWAYS for me, the things He gave me, were always better in many ways than my original request. And when God does give you stuff, He always let you have a choice. He doesnt wrap your request in wrapping paper and give it to you. He will have you choose your own opportunities to make your request better than your original request. I finally know how God works..... so cool..... Improvements, innovations, upgrades, opportunities..... wonderful......

Having calling it a day, I went back to bradel to watch "shocking asia" with the gang (terence, john, adam were there) and even aunty irene was watching it together.... it was really shocking cos it showed the op where the guy's privates were transformed into a gal's privates and lotsa other stuff which I think is quite obsence to reveal here.....
