Camping adventure

Ah Ber is sun burnt again. I spent the last wed and thurs CAMPING. Can you believe it? Wed was Jared's birthday so we all followed his wishes to go to the places he wanted to go.

Wed -
9am to 11.30am - We went to Jurong Swimming complex to enjoy the lazy river and wave pool and dip in the jacuzzi. The look on the kids' faces showed they really enjoyed the lazy river and wave pool.

11.30 to 3pm - We travelled to Kulai via the 2nd link. Went to the Nanyang fishing pond. the scenery sucks cos there were rubbish everywhere. The pond is a man-made pond but it was quite good. The fishes there were big but we cannot bring them back - its a catch and release pond. The fishes were longer than my arm!! But we didnt have much luck with the fishes due to 2 reasons. 1) We had to use either bread of some banana pudding as bait, which doesn't really stay on the hooks for long. 2) The hooks we had to use, had to be barbless. They took out the little pointed part of the hook so that we dun hurt the fishes if we get them. But this way, the fishes dun really stay on the hook as well.

The mozzies there were HORRIBLE. They gave us the impression that they haven't been feeding in THOUSANDS of years cos they were so ferocious and HUNGRY. They could sting for a few times in a row. We were really casaulties of this episode. Even the mozzies coil cannot prevent them from us.

After an hour, we gave up.

3pm to 6pm - We travelled to giant, carrefour wanting to get our sleeping bags and our tent. Managed to get the tent and i got a sleeping bag and shoes too. Hahaha.

6pm to 8pm - We played at Danga Bay.

8pm to 10pm - We went to fishing shops in woodlands and yishun to get our fishing stuff and set up our tent at Sembawang beach.

10pm to Thurs 6pm - We spent our time at Sembawang beach where I got the biggest crab and D got the biggest FISH. Hahahahah...... Slept at 5am on thurs morn but at 7am, I was awaken by D who was screaming for me to get pilers and scissors and a towel cos he said some catfish had a Hook in its mouth. I jumped up thinking WOW, we finally get a big fish. To my dismayal..... it was a Stewpig "stupid" cat who was greedy enough to eat a fish on the hook (not our hook, some people's hook) and got snagged on the line with the hook hooking her mouth just like a fish.

You know ah, the cat's mouth is not like a fish mouth and it really hurts if the hook hooked it. So i decided to cut the line cos the stewpig cat refused to let me go near her to remove the hook. So the cat left with a piercing in her mouth la. Stewpig cat.

Wat a camping adventure. My furkids didnt go as we needed to spend a night and I didnt have time to concentrate on them and on fishing. I also didnt want them to be killed by the sand fleas there or the wild cats or dogs there.

Mummy also brought charcoal and we cooked maggie mee, toasted bread, scrambled eggs, coffee and lotsa others over the stove. We also cooked and ate our crabs and prawns and fishes....

But I felt like a young gal at heart again. Felt wild and jungle-like. Like in survivor!!! Hahahaha. But it was really cool!!! And the boys were great as my fishing assistants! Especially Jared. He was really PRO.... He listened to instructions and he was able to catch fishes too!!! Great Job Jared!!!
